Welcome to the User Data Visualizer

The goal of user data visualizer is to enable the users of internet services to see and understand what data is being collected on them when they use these services. The system currently supports user data files from Snapchat but further support for more platforms will come in the future. Please refer to the video or the instructions below to see how you can request and view the data Snapchat is collecting on you.

1. Request your user data from Snapchat:
• Go to the Snapchat account website, login, and go to "MY DATA".
• Scroll to the bottlom and select "Submit Request."
    (This will request an email to be sent to your inbox)
• Once the email arrives, click the download link provided in the email.
• Snapchat has a support page with more detailed information here.
2. Download the .zip file from the link in the email that you recieved from Snapchat.
3. Extract the .zip file and open the .json folder.
4. Select all of the files in the folder and drag them into the import drop zone below.
5. Once the files have been imported into the browser, the application will launch and you will be able to view your data.
